PRESS RELEASE
After many years of corporate life, Linda and Bill decided to leave the "big city" behind and move to the country to buy a small country inn. In January 1987 they purchased the Cornucopia after discovering and falling in love with the town of Dorset and the inn.
Since then, both Linda and Bill have worked hard to promote their inn and the hospitality industry in their community. They helped spearhead the formation of the Lodging Association of Southern Vermont, a marketing and industry support organization. They were also co-founders of the Dorset Area Chamber of Commerce. Bill served on the New England Innkeepers Association Board of Directors and on its Marketing Committee. Linda represents the industry and the Dorset Area Chamber on the Bennington Regional Marketing Organization Board. Both volunteer their time in these as well as in many other local and state organizations.
Cornucopia of Dorset has received recognition in such publications as The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Hartford Courant, The New York Post, Paris Le Monde, Discerning Traveler Newsletters and annual Romantic Hideaways issue, Johansens, Yankee Magazine (named Editor's Pick three years in a row), Country Inns Magazine, Getaways for Gourmets, America's Favorite Inns, Yankee Traveler, The Fireside Guide, The Complete Guide to Bed and Breakfast Inns, Weekends for Two in New England, Country Inns and Back Roads, the Mobil Traveler, Best Places to Kiss and Inn Spots and Special Places.
The Vermont Lodging & Restaurant Association is statewide trade association dedicated solely to meeting the needs of Vermont's lodging and restaurant businesses. Established in 1926, the Association has over 425 members statewide.
